P.S. I love you Newman
A warm place to gather to discuss art, animals, roses, gardens and gardening, life, and, to laugh of course. I'm long winded. My sisters and friends often say "Can you just get to the point?!" There's a famous 17th Century quote I adore that reads "I have made this longer only because I could not find the words to make it shorter."

I know, sweetheart.
When I went to the vet's to pick up Advantage for the fuzzies, I asked timidly if they still had my beloved Kittenface there. You see, I hadn't been able to face picking her up yet. The guilt was killing me, and I felt as though I had betrayed her. Miraculously, they still had her there, and gave her to me. I put her in her place of honor, next to Scaredy cat. K2 and I had a long cry on the way home. I'm so glad I have her back where she belongs, and I feel as though she can rest now. It was July 30. It still hurts. I know exactly how you feel. I do.
Karen,
Thank you so much darling. Newman died on January 10th. A full moon. A full moon comes every single month to remind me Newman's gone. I got so pissed at it last month I told it to go away and leave me hell alone. It's back! I don't think it listened to a word I said!
Newman's with us every day in little ways. For example, I walked in the door the other day and thought I saw him, but it was Phatty Foo Foo sitting in the perfect place, in the perfect position and for an instant she looked exactly like Newman. I actually said out loud "Newman?" No, not Newman, but it was so nice to see him again. We all miss him very much.
I'm so glad you have Kittenface and Scaredy Cat near you. It matters. And when you move they'll move with you. I was going to have Newman cremated, but didn't because I needed to bring him home in order to show the other kitties and T-Bone he was gone. I burying him next to the new Maple tree in the back yard. The tree that replaced the huge 40 year old Ash we lost in the storm. Rob put the slate heart stepping stone over him and so I get to look at him every day and remember the good times. I just bought two tomato plants today and decided to plant them over Newman and our gold fish. Yup, right in the center of the lawn! Why? Because I have absolutely no space anywhere else and the tree will take three years to find itself. So why not enjoy tomatoes in the meantime. Newman would be proud of Mommy! He loved to garden with me.
My darling friend Renee from LA wrote and said "It's not the beginning or end that matters, it's all the good stuff that happened in the middle." Renee and Charlie took care of Newman after he was abandoned by a neighbor, then we moved next door and he became our beloved cat. He had a beautiful life, but it was too short.
I love you darling. Thanks for stopping by and writing such beautiful words. Honestly, they're a comfort. I'm so grateful we found one another. And honey, your new home is lovely. Thanks for posting the photos and telling your story. I enjoyed every word. It's a happy home and I hope it brings you lots of joy.
With love,
Sis
P.S. Oh, just so you know, I'm horrible with death! I don't know why because I love wearing a beautiful black dress, with my pearl earrings and necklace, and gorgeous black slingbacks, but REFUSE to go to funerals. I have to buck up because my Mom told me recently she and Dad are going to die one day. How dare they!!!
Hugs.
Megan,
Thanks darling.
