My Darling Friend and Engineer from Raleigh, NC

This is where I enter the woods to feed the ferals. It is "our" special place. I have memories to fill a book. The path you see is the bike/running path. The sun in the back is where I feed the kitties. That is my tree. Those are my leaves, my shrubs and that is my sun. It is a place so filled with love I have no idea how to express it in words. For as long as I live, I will remember this place and all that surrounds it.

My dear friend from high school lives in Raleigh, NC. She's a brilliant women and an engineer taking time off to raise her son. She's also a Democrat dealing with a mom who is the former head of the Republican party in NC. She's going to comment on my blog tomorrow. As a fellow Democrat, I will listen. All you Republicans should run for cover! No, seriously. She'll kick your a**. We talked today and laughed so hard we cried. That's us. We deal with Republicans in our own families and can't quite believe how fortunate we are! Bait! Life is good.

The U.S. is moving forward. No more Bush. We will take back this country and regain respect. The past 8 years have been a nightmare. It's almost over.

Much love,
Suzanne

Interesting post. Before it is over, we must repair the damage that was done.

I love the woods. It is a fine place to sit bak and feel time as it us to be.

Hi Sweetie,

I visited your blog and gasped. I called my hubby in to look. Too beautiful for words. Really. Just too damn beautiful. I say this again and again...there are just too many talented people in the world. Honestly, I don't know how to absorb it all.

I erased a comment from a blog today because I thought I was too unkind. When I went back the comments were so hurtful. They didn't realize I had erased!!! I realized I didn't belong in a place I thought I did. It's funny how the blogging world teaches you lessons in short notice. That's a good thing. We all deserve to learn. You have amazing talent. This blog is a good thing and you should listen!

Love you,
Suzanne!

Hi Suzanne,

Your woods are a wonderful site. Having that much green in one spot is something that we won't enjoy for another few weeks. I think we will have snow again too before then. Thanks for the reminders of Spring and beauty. They are greatly appreciated. As for the election, I don't know what to say except that tomorrow is Super Tuesday in my state also. We have a diverse mix of politics here and the people like the local ones a lot. It's the national ones that are causing the heartburn :-( Good luck with your election, I hope it turns out in your favor where you are.

That's a beautiful picture of a beautiful place.

The coming election is already turning out to be the most exciting in memory. Not only because Numbnuts will leave office, but also because the Democratic nominee is going to be either female or black.

Suzanne, I saw your link on Tara's blog yesterday, and I clicked over here, but I didn't leave a comment. But I thought, omigosh, what a beautiful blog you have. And then, voila!, there you were on my blog. It's nice to meet you.

Good luck with your elections. The whole world is watching and keeping our fingers crossed that the right man/woman wins. What happens in American affects the whole rest of the world.

Hi Skeeter,

The photo of the tree was taken in August, so it's not a current photo. I guess I should have mentioned that! Right now the trees are bare and the park is wet and moody from too much rain. The sun has been out for two days however, and the weather forcast indicates it will remain sunny the next 5 days! Good for us. We need some cheering up.

Politics. Local stuff here is pretty good too, but as you said, it's the national nightmare that hurts. I don't care what party anyone associates themselves with as long as we all agree it's time for a change and begin the process of moving forward. This nonsense has to end.

Some of the daffodils are about to bloom and when they do I'll share them with all of you. On the way to the park today I also saw the most amazing sight as I was getting off the freeway. A huge field of wild mustard in bloom. Why I looked, I have no idea. I couldn't believe how beautiful. Spring is here. I'm not crazy about pulling off the freeway and taking a photo, but will because it's too beautiful not to share.

We'll chat soon. Stay warm and thanks for always staying in touch.

Love,
Suzanne

Hey Brian,

I was just on your blog and wrote to Robyn, not you. Sorry about that, but will get to you in no time. I learned you're a Patriot's fan. Poor Rob is still in mourning. I imagine you are too. What a killer.

Thanks for the kind comment. I love the kitties beyond measure. We do have a very special place and I feel absolutely honored they found me. It obviously isn't a situation without frustration, but generally speaking, it's amazing. And the local...stunning, despite rape and/or robbery, coyotes, homeless people, rain, cold, etc. You know the drill! The challenge has changed me. I feel like a different woman than I was 8 months ago. I leave the park many days in tears, but then others with a smile on my face so, so wide. It's been a blessing that is absolutely indescribable.

I love you dear, thanks for always staying in touch.

Hey Mark,

Always good to have you here. I'm not sure my friend will show up today. Her son is ill and she's a worried mom. We'll see. If she does show up, I'll be so happy! She's a gem and I know you will all embrace her. She's smart, funny, and gets to the point in a second. She's not like me!

I'll tell you a funny story. When I first started my blog I called her and asked her to read my first post. She said "So, what are you going to do with it? What's your intent?" I didn't know the answer. When I talked to her yesterday I asked if she'd accessed my blog in the past few months. She said no. I said, it's become a huge hit. She replied "Really?" Like it was a stretch or an impossibility!!! I had to laugh. Yup...that's my life. My sisters are the same. No one cuts me any slack.

Put a photo back. You're buggin' me now. If I have to come over there and paste it on myself...I WILL!!!

Love to all,
Suzanne

beautyful words. I love forests. It's something I'll miss in Spain. Theirs are different: so dry and "little soft" if you know what I mean, without shadow, thorny plants everywhere - well, mediterranean to put it into one word.

I allways wonder whether there's time left to make politics in the states. Before a presidential election it seems to be campaigns for nearly two years. In Europe the politicians won't touch infamous topics while campaigning but often it's the infamous ones that are important.
Strange to read about GWB between cats, trees and roses.
