A Great Day To Be Alive...

I couldn't stop smiling. I'm still smiling. I took six stickers and put them all over the place, even on me. A funny thing happened in the polling booth however, I couldn't decide. It took probably a good 5 minutes to finally mark my ballot. I've never been indecisive when I vote, but today was different. A woman and a black man. How lucky can we get? What an amazing choice. I'm hoping one is President, the other Vice President!!! As Bob Dylan sang, "The Times They Are A Changin'..."

Love to all!
Suzanne

Edit: Three comments after a day?! Come on. Obviously I have more Republicans here than I realized! Come on you guys, lighten up. We will probably never agree politically, but as my dear friend in Utah (a Mormon) said, politics don't really matter if you like someone. I adore all of you, so even if you're a Republican, you're welcome here! I'm serious. I don't even really care who wins the presidency as long as we move thoughtfully back to the 21st Century, rather than remain in the Dark Ages. We are in a horrible place in American history and I don't think it's good for our collective souls. I doubt many of you would disagree, regardless of your political affiliation. Love and miss you all.

It only takes one smile, to stop a thousand tears.
A smile cost nothing but gives much.

Hi Suzanne,

From the looks of the early returns, there were a lot of people who waited to choose until the last moment. It wasn't nearly so close in my state. The winners won big here and everyone else went home with hats in hand. The after-party was fun though.

I am sorry, I can't comment right now. Someone took all the stickers.

Glad you're smiling with me. Nice to have you near.

Thanks for the kind words about my painting. It's actually a small portion of a larger canvas. I stuck my "I Voted" sticker on it and loved the look!

Your English is wonderful. Good for you. And yes, I'm sure you will vote in the next election. It's such a thrill and an honor. And honey, I'm actually Polish! English and French on my Mom's side, Polish and Czech on my Dad's side. My mom remarried and we took my stepdad's name (German!), but my birth name is Siatkowski!. Yes, a real mouth full! It's a small world. Isn't it?

Love and hugs to you too,
Suzanne :)

With a huge hug and kiss,
Moi :)

Skeeter,

I was listening to a guest on NBC who relayed a story about one of the producers she spoke with. The producer, a smart woman, obviously, spent over 5 minutes in the booth because she couldn't mark her ballot! Sound familiar!? Wow, so many of us are struggling. It's an amazing time in American history. I'm glad I'm around to enjoy it.

I heard on the news there were tornados in the mid-west. Sounds as if they weren't near you. Good. Glad the voting was uneventful, but loads of fun and that you basically got what you wanted! Life is good.

Thanks for your comments. I always enjoy them. Did you read the one I wrote to you about football and John Elway? It's a keeper. Life is often SO funny. Talk to you soon.

XO Suzanne

Mr. CSI,

Here, I have an extra one and just like a V8 I'll smack it right on your forehead! I did take a lot. Infact, I think I took 7, perhaps 8. Maybe 9. I felt so good, I lost count. I just know I took a bundle. One of the best days of my life.

My dear friend from Raleigh didn't make it today. Her son is ill. I know you can relate. Kids are #1.

Rob wrote to you, but listen to this. He wrote it via email, mailed it to me from across the pond (the other side of the wall) with the following instructions..."You can retype it for Brian, that sounds easiest." For whom?! What a bum. Okay, so you'll get a note from Rob as soon as my lazy ass gets off this tyraid. As if I have a million d*** hours in my day. He's going to have to get his own blog. I don't have time for this.

Well, as always, nice to have you here after you've visited Robyn! I'm sorry. I can't stop. The two of you are too precious.

Love you,
Suzanne

Hey Kylie...Yup Republican with a capital "C." No, you never impressed me as one. Thank God! Love your recent post. Made me laugh so hard and my comment will probably enlighten you more than you would like!

Amanda's doing so well. Remember my start? Good Lord! She's light years beyond me! I'll visit often. She's a sweetie. And, thanks for your kind words.

Love you dear,

XO Suze

Suzanne!
You were so right about Parrish. He touched me to my core. I was humbled.

I feel really bad about the rantings on Bri's blog. It was in bad form for me to vomit those feelings on there. That is what happens when I am left here with my hours of too much thinking. No one wants to hear or listen to rantings of a soldiers woes.

Well it is what it is. Unfortantly, with this day in history (voting), it had brought up alot of the feelings I have surpressed for a long time. My head is thick with sounds and pictures that are all still too vivid. Today was a hard, exciting day for me.

As I went to pick up my parents to take them to the voting poll, I realized 2 generations were in the car, that were touched by war. WAR! One from the era of the 60-70's and one from 80-90's...and the war is still going on today well into the 2000's. *sigh*

I look at my nephews and niece and wonder if their lives will be touched by war...yes today was all about 'CHANGE'.

Suzanne thank you for being so very excited about the winds of change. My mom and dad said it felt alot like when JFK and MLK were alive and those movements. When I picked them up today they were very ready and wanted to take it all in. We got to the polls and I was pleasantly shocked to see we had to wait in a very long line. And too see all the youth in the lines warms my heart! Yes we can, and change is on the way!

Suzanne love you dear soul. You make me smile everyday. I find you precious too!
Hugs,
Robyn

Hi sweetie, I'll write more later, but just want to give you a huge, huge hug this morning. What you wrote on Brian's blog brought me to tears. I'm so glad it's there. And I knew you'd love Stephen. I read his post a day before yours and you both touched me. Please don't ever erase and please don't think it just a bunch of babble. It's important for you to get it out and equally important for people to read it. Thank you for your kind words, and just, well...just for being you. I adore you. XO Suze

I have to go because I'm actually here to check on Cecile. There were horrible tornados over night - went right through Arkansas. I hope she's okay. We'll talk later. Check on her too when you have an opportunity. This crap always terrifies me because I've been through 2 horrible earthquakes and know how life can change in an instant. Love you.

P.S. Thank God for the winds of change!

Hi Suzanne,

I love the picture. I wish you could do ceramic tiles!

I loved voting. The first time in over 10 yrs. that I voted on the demo. ticket. I was sad that my first two choices already had dropped out. But I am still hopeful that the country will choose different priorities. That can't happen quick enough for me. Anyone who works with or for or helps in a public school can not tell me otherwise.

I would love a picture of you Suzanne with all those stickers! It's a fun image and I wish we could go vote together sometime. Ever want to move back down South?
'Love, Renee

I'm voting for Monica Lewenski's ex boyfriend's wife. Go CLINTON! I think the 5 years the Clintons were in the White House, were some of the best years our country has seen. Plus, I think women are awsome.

Renee,

Hi sweetie. You know what's so funny. I can do ceramic tiles! My mom was so into ceramics and while at UCLA, I took ceramics. I don't think it's offered any more. When you and I were at UCLA, everything was changing. Especially the art department. Not so much the math department!!!

Ya know what honey, I was wondering what you and Charlie would do in this election. I'm so happy you made a choice that matters. I don't care who you picked, just that you picked. Too bad the kids can't vote! This is such a time of absolute distress, we have to do what matters. We must get out of this place. Can you believe that as we watched 911 unfold, this would all be revealed? I will never forget being with you that morning then racing from L.A to Northern CA. Never. We will share that memory for as long as we live. We deserve to be in a better place. Here is not where we should be.

I love you my dear. You know that. Nothing as changed, but eveything has changed. I know you understand.

Love and hugs to all of you.
Suzanne

P.S. I would move back in an instant except I can't stant earthquates. They kill me. You know that. Have you considered moving north?!

Beautiful picture! You are an amazing artist.

My husband and I are pretty moderate in our political views and I knew that I was going to vote for one of the democratic candidates for the last few months. He, on the other had, had it narrowed down to 3 candidates when he arrived at the polls!
