Something odd happened yesterday. I stopped at the gas station to fill up before going to the park. I walked in to pay and saw a young 30 something guy who looked like a young James Taylor. His hair was shorter. To his ears, but I remember thinking "Oh my God, he's the spitting image." I walked past him and paid, then turned to exit and there he was, holding the door for me. I smiled and said "Thanks." He was so close I could smell him, and he said "Your hair is beautiful." And he meant it. I turned and said "Thanks." Then I paused and took his arm and said "No really, thanks, you made my day. It's been such a difficult morning so you have no idea how much this means to me." We stopped in front of my car and really looked at one another. My hand was still on his arm. He said "I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true. You don't realize how beautiful you are, do you?" I wanted to cry. I swear to God I did. But I didn't. I just looked at him and thought about life and the moment and I was so grateful. We hugged and I said "thank you." I honestly believe he was an angel. I do.

I grew up around Woodstock, NY and James Taylor always came to play at the Joyous Lake. My dear friend Diana and I tried to get in one night, but the bouncer knew we were just shy of 18. No go. I could hear his voice, but wasn't able to see him. I love that man and I love his voice. Yesterday I met his twin and experienced absolute grace.

Wow Suzanne- what a melt-at-the-knees moment! What a connection!

Angel? or Wide Boy?

Believe he was an angel and leave it at that. It's great to receive a compliment at a time you really need it.

Sorry havn't been over for a while- I got rather distracted by the Thursday Theme- stumbled on it some how and spent hours- I mean HOURS- reading everyone's take on the theme. Loved it!! I love hearing different perspectives on a theme- which is why I like reading group- and..well..blogging I guess!

hope you have a good day:) x

Aw, what a cool story! Happy Friday dear Suz and hope you are staying dry -- is the rain over? We are still getting pounded.

When I was in college I went to a James Taylor concert. It was in a pouring rainstorm but oh, did we have fun anyway. I'll never forget the ride back to campus on the bus - all singing JT songs!

Angel! I did need that compliment and he was so sweet. It was a moment I'll never forget.

I was wondering where you were and then found you over on Megan's blog discussing the Thursday Theme. I knew immediately!!! I'm not even going to look at that stuff. I hardly have time to write this! I'm so glad you're enjoying yourself because blogging is so much fun. A bit time consuming, but well worth the effort.

Hope you're having a great day too. I'll stop by soon, okay. Until then take care.

XO Me!

Megan,

Hi honey. Thanks. I got a bit wet at the park then more while running errands, but I didn't mind. I'm so grateful it's raining. God do we need it. As I write this the sun in shining! As I look toward Tahoe the sky is blue and sunny, but as I look toward the ocean it's nearly black. I assume this storm in coming from the west, so we're in for more. We just had to have a wee bit of California sunshine to keep us smiling!!!

James Taylor. Don't you just love that man. He had/has a house in Woodstock so played at the Joyous Lake all the time. Unfortunately I was never able to see him perform. Big regret. But I'm glad you did. What a great memory.

How sweet it is...;) XO

Cinnamon,

Just so you know, for some reason I can't comment on your page. It drives me nutty. The same thing has happened with my friend in Australia. I just want you to know I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your post and always read them. The most recent is terrific because I love the cattle, I love a hedgerow and I love the building on the right hand side. Is that a house. The architecture is gorgeous! So's your town. And the snowdrops are precious. You live in such a beautiful part of the world.

Love you dear and thanks for always stopping by.

XO

P.S. Stay warm and dry.
P.P.S. I love that walking organization! I read a bit of their blog but will have to return when I have more time.

Shell,

That's SO, SO funny, I was just thinking about you. I'm reinstating my blog roll and realized I haven't visited you in a week or more. God, you're such a dear for putting up with me and still stopping by to say "Hey!" Thanks honey!

Life is beautiful, isn't it. You know how people say something and you hear it, say thanks and just keep going. For some reason the way he said it made all the difference. He made me pause, think and appreciate the moment. It was so precious. I knew I was supposed to remember it. And I will. I honestly believe there are angels on earth and they're here for a reason, to remind us that we're valuable and life is meaningful if we simply slow down and take notice. When I put my hand on his arm and he said I was beautiful I know he wasn't referring to my physical appearance, he was referring to my heart and I just wanted to cry. It was such a special moment because I knew someone was trying to remind me to have faith and remain strong, no matter what.

Thanks for stopping by my dear. I'll come over when I have some time. I have to get the dishwasher loaded and the laundry started and I'm about 3 hours off schedule!!! Good Lord!!!

XO ;)
